Mold Feasibility Engineer

Trevor Frances Recruitment is partnering with an industry-leading tooling manufacturer to recruit a Mold Feasibility Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced injection mold professional who enjoys solving technical challenges before production begins and helping bring complex tooling projects to life.
If you have experience with injection mold design, feasibility analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM), this role offers the chance to work on innovative projects while collaborating with engineering, estimating, and global teams.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Mold Feasibility Engineer, you'll evaluate customer part designs and technical data to determine tooling feasibility and support accurate quoting for complex injection mold programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing feasibility studies, including actions, travel paths, parting lines, runoffs, and steel sizing
Developing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) solutions that support production and customer requirements
Creating feasibility concepts for quoting and manufacturing
Providing tooling recommendations to support the estimating team
Reviewing customer CAD data, drawings, and technical specifications
Identifying design challenges and recommending practical solutions
Supporting quoting accuracy through technical analysis
Preparing customer presentations and technical documentation
Collaborating with engineering, estimating, and global feasibility teams
Ensuring designs align with tooling best practices and customer standards
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining technical knowledge
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a technically strong individual with excellent analytical skills and a passion for solving manufacturing challenges.
Qualifications include:
Experience in injection mold design or feasibility engineering
Strong understanding of injection molded plastics technology
Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Proficiency with Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Experience with compression molding or low-pressure injection molding is considered an asset
