Trevor Frances Recruitment is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturing organization to recruit an experienced Senior Mold Designer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected tooling manufacturer that designs and builds complex, world-class injection molds for customers across North America and around the globe.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Mold Designer, you'll play a key role in the design and development of complex plastic injection molds while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams. You'll also help guide and mentor junior designers while ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing complex plastic injection molds using Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
Developing mold concepts, feasibility studies, and innovative design solutions
Designing structural foam, gas assist, multi-shot, thermoset, and compression molds
Creating high-quality surfaces and supporting part development
Managing engineering work order design changes throughout projects
Resolving technical design challenges while maintaining manufacturability and buildability
Participating in and leading design reviews
Mentoring junior designers and providing technical guidance
Reviewing design quality and ensuring compliance with OEM standards and customer requirements
Working closely with Engineering Managers and Lead Designers to establish project timelines and priorities
Maintaining accurate design documentation and project history
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical design expertise with excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
Qualifications include:
Minimum 5 years of experience designing plastic injection molds
Advanced experience with Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
Strong understanding of injection mold technologies and tooling design
Experience designing structural foam, gas assist, multi-shot, thermoset, and compression molds
Strong knowledge of manufacturability and mold build processes
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Ability to identify technical issues and develop practical solutions
Experience mentoring or supporting other designers is considered an asset
Diploma in CAD/CAM, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Design, or a related discipline is considered an asset
